Biggest Loser:Incentivised trading game details
On Tuesday 5th of July, we released a trading game incentive in order for our community to try out our new Alpha Console, this console version is still under work so it will continue to improve. The new incentive Biggest Loser! will start on Vega Fairground and it will be trading until Thursday 7th of July 2pm UTC.
The rule is simple, trade the XYZbeta asset and decrease it, as close to 0 as possible without being liquidated. End up in the top 100 with the largest percentage loss, again, without being liquidated. You can request one faucet of the required funds XYZbeta and the leaderboard is based on percentage loss calculated according to (final balance - total deposited)/(total deposited).
Generally aim for the top loser spots on the leaderboard to receive the highest reward according to the distribution table below.
Biggest Loser is a trading game in a testnet environment. By competing in a lifelike market for a share of the VEGA incentives, you’ll learn about Vega and find out first-hand what it’s like to trade on Vega markets.
In addition to the trading game incentive we would highly appreciate any bugs or suggestion of improvements to the console to be submitted on github discussions.
The project will also benefit from all the data created, metrics collected, and feedback received, which will help develop and improve the protocol. If we’re really lucky and something goes wrong we might even find and fix some bugs!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INCENTIVE
To compete in this incentive, you need to:
Create a Vega wallet by following these instructions and copying the generated public key. In case you have never taken part in Vega incentives you will need to register for incentives.
- Join Discord and follow the @vegaprotocol Twitter account, like and retweet the rewards tweet
- Paste your public key and twitter account in the form in order to receive the asset (XYZBeta) needed to trade. Assets (XYZbeta) are transferred in batches twice per day and can only be received once per account.
- Start trading using the Alpha Console or API. At the end of the incentive, the accounts with the highest percentage loss, (final balance - total deposited)/(total deposited), will receive rewards in accordance with the table below.
- In case you need further assistance to get you started we are always available to help on our Discord.
- Make as big % loss as possible without getting liquidated and end up in the top 100 and collect your reward!
- For feedback in terms for the console please use github discussions so that we can track it.
Please note, if you are using a local CLI wallet, you are required to run version v0.16.1 (or later), as for the Vega Wallet Desktop app v0.2.0 is required. You can download the latest wallet by following these instructions.

Biggest Loser is based on XMRUSD. Market details will be visible through Vega Alpha Console and APIs.

HOW TO CLAIM YOUR TOKENS
After 31st July 2022, winners will be able to get a token claim link by logging onto the token rewards website with the Twitter account used to register for Fairground Incentives (this is the Twitter handle on the list above). You will be asked to confirm your country of residence - unfortunately, those in restricted countries will not be able to claim tokens.
This is a unique, one time use link, and not specific to any individual so it can be used by anyone to claim tokens. Please treat it with the same security as you would a token. Unfortunately, Vega cannot rectify any mistakes, lost links, or links that have already been used. You know the drill!
All tokens have a linear vesting. All tokens, either locked or vested, can be staked on the Vega network once it is live.

Rules
- Breaking things is encouraged! Tell us how you broke them and we may give you a tip if it’s found to be a critical bug. Demonstrate exactly how to reproduce it here. Include screenshots/code snippets in as much detail as possible to be eligible for a tip.
- The Vega project reserves the right to not reward participants that are not participating in the community spirit of the incentive programs i.e. botting to collect as many rewards as possible or using an exploit to win an incentive.
- In the event of unforeseen issues and/or a network crash (or essential reset) we will either restart the event OR track and reward those that participated successfully. The course of action will depend on the unforeseen issue. If you miss out, don’t worry, there are many more incentives planned for the coming weeks and months.
- Attempting to create multiple entries by changing twitter handles, having multiple personal accounts, using bot or farmed twitter accounts or by any other means will result in disqualification from this, and any future, incentives.
