Vega’s purpose built blockchain has sub-second block times and is optimised for fully decentralised trading. It’s built on top of the mature Tendermint consensus library, and everything from the mempool to the fee model and proof-of-stake implementation are optimised to make Vega as safe, fair, and high performance as possible.

Trading fees are determined by competitive bidding for each market, ensuring the best price is achieved for both traders and liquidity providers.
