Incentivised trading & Rewards game details
On Wednesday 28th of September, we will be running a trading and rewards game (Player's Choice) on a freshly upgraded network that should have taken care of the previous week's issues. In order for as many as possible to be able to participate, and give everyone a chance to win the game will have 4(!) different leaderboards, each with 500 $VEGA.
Everyone receives the same amount of rDAI to use on the XRP/iDAI market. One of the leaderboards will be based on PNL, one on providing liquidity, one on Maker fees received and the last one on Maker fees paid as a taker, see below for more details.
The rules might be simple for each leaderboard individually, but how to get on the top of more than one, or perhaps all 4 might not be.
Aim for the top spots on one or more of the leaderboards below in order to receive the highest reward according to the distribution table below. Try out trading on our Testnet, either using the new under development console, or API. The new incentive will be trading until Friday 30th of September 2 pm UTC.
Leaderbboards
The leaderboards will be based on 3 different types of rewards as well as one based on PNL, each with their own leaderboard ranking.
Maker leaderboard - Get as much $rMAK as you can: A reward distributed based on the sum of maker fees received on the XRP/rDAI market.
Taker leaderboard - Get as much $rTAK as you can: A reward distributed based on the sum of maker fees paid on the XRP/rDAI market.
Liquidity Provider leaderboard - Get as much $rLP as you can: A reward distributed based on the sum of liquidity fees received on the XRP/rDAI market. How to provide liquidity can be found here.
PNL leaderboard - Get as much $rDAI as you can: The leaderboard is based on percentage gain of rDAI, calculated according to (final balance - total deposited)/(total deposited).
By competing in a lifelike market for a share of the VEGA incentives, you’ll learn about Vega and find out first-hand what it’s like to trade on Vega markets.
In addition to the trading game incentive, we would highly appreciate any bugs or suggestions of improvements to the console to be submitted on github discussions.
The project will also benefit from all the data created, metrics collected, and feedback received, which will help develop and improve the protocol. If we’re really lucky and something goes wrong we might even find and fix some bugs!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INCENTIVE
To compete in this incentive, you need to:
Create a Vega wallet by following these instructions and copying the generated public key. In case you have never taken part in Vega incentives you will need to register for incentives.
- Join Discord and follow the @vegaprotocol Twitter account, like and retweet the Player's Choice tweet
- Paste your public key and twitter account in the form in order to receive the asset (rDAI) needed to trade. Assets (rDAI) are transferred in batches and can only be received once per account.
- Start trading on the XRP/rDAI market using the Console or API.
- End up at the top of one or more leaderboards in order to collect your reward!
- For feedback please use github discussions so that we can track it and follow up.
Please note, if you are using a local CLI wallet, you are required to run version v0.55.0 (or later), as for the Vega Wallet Desktop app v0.2.0 is required. You can download the latest wallet by following these instructions.
Market details
Market details will be visible through Vega Alpha Console and APIs.
All announcements for this market will be made via the Vega Protocol Twitter account @vegaprotocol so make sure you follow to stay up to date.
Incentives
The following is the reward structure, 500 $VEGA (top 20 users) for each leaderboard, making it a total of 2000 $VEGA divided among 4 different leaderboards. Each user is allowed to be rewarded on one or more leaderboards.

Incentive Governance
In case for some reason the incentive has started and run for at least 12 hours and runs into issues that prevent it from continuing, including restarting, within a reasonable amount of time, it is up to the community to decide what to do by incentive governance.
Incentive governance means that the community members are allowed to make proposals through the Ambassadors, on how to settle the incentive. The proposals should be added to a vote which will be had at the end of the original incentive.
The following needs to be true for a governance vote to be valid.
- The incentive must have ran for at least 12 hours.
- No specific user can be named in the reward structure, e.g. user AB receives all rewards.
- The amount of total rewards can not exceed the original amount.
- In case it is decided to reward people
- The incentive has reached its end and users were not able to participate in a way that made it possible for users to participate in the intended way.
- Only registered participants in the incentive votes are valid, this includes twitter, discord and vega public key
- At least 2 different alternatives need to be available to vote for, and users need a sufficient amount of time to vote.
Example of an option for voting
- Change the reward structure to raffle 20 $VEGA to 75 users
- Keep the current reward structure
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR TOKENS
After 25th October 2022, winners will be able to get a token claim link by logging onto the token rewards website with the Twitter account used to register for Fairground Incentives (this is the Twitter handle on the list above). You will be asked to confirm your country of residence - unfortunately, those in restricted countries will not be able to claim tokens.
This is a unique, one time use link, and not specific to any individual so it can be used by anyone to claim tokens. Please treat it with the same security as you would a token. Unfortunately, Vega cannot rectify any mistakes, lost links, or links that have already been used. You know the drill!
All tokens have a linear vesting. All tokens, either locked or vested, can be staked on the Vega network once it is live.

Rules
- Breaking things is encouraged! Tell us how you broke them and we may give you a tip if it’s found to be a critical bug. Demonstrate exactly how to reproduce it here. Include screenshots/code snippets in as much detail as possible to be eligible for a tip.
- The Vega project reserves the right to not reward participants that are not participating in the community spirit of the incentive programs i.e. botting to collect as many rewards as possible or using an exploit to win an incentive.
- In the event of unforeseen issues and/or a network crash (or essential reset) we will either restart the event OR track and reward those that participated successfully. The course of action will depend on the unforeseen issue. If you miss out, don’t worry, there are many more incentives planned for the coming weeks and months.
- Attempting to create multiple entries by changing twitter handles, having multiple personal accounts, using bot or farmed twitter accounts or by any other means will result in disqualification from this, and any future, incentives.
